Beautiful BC

Well, we are back from almost three weeks in beautiful British Columbia. My brother was married on August 6, 2005 at the Simon Fraser Rose Garden. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding. Nicole looked absolutely beautiful. They are still on their honeymoon in the Mayan Riviera (not far from where Jurgen and I went).

After five days of shopping and having fun in Vancouver, we went off to Hornby Island to spend just over a week on Jurgen's parents property. Three and a half acres of ocean front goodness. Usually I am only so-so on the whole Hornby thing, but this time was great! We had fantastic weather and we finally did some of the things that I have always wanted to do there - spend a day on Denman Island, go mountain biking on the Mount Geoffery trails, and do some water skiing. We swam every day (sometimes even twice) and most of the time it was so warm that we didn't even need wet suits! It was a really nice vacation.

Despite the fact that I enjoyed myself in BC, I was ready to go home. I missed my kitties. I missed long showers. I was sick of the "inside outhouse". I was sick of no doors. I was tired of the damp. I was tired of having to wait for Jurgen's family to figure out what we were doing for the evening. I am glad to be back. I am glad to be sleeping in my comfy bed, in my beautiful house, with my two wonderful little kitties.

Tomorrow is mine and Jurgen's first anniversary as husband and wife. It doesn't really seem all that different from when we were not married, but that is a good thing.

Monday is back to the real world. Back to the grind. Nice to have a routine again.
